Let me say this quite frankly: I love Trader Joe’s. Well, not on a Sunday. Or actually any day of a weekend. But on a weekday morning, it’s definitely my happy place. Now I realize that having a super market as my happy place means that I may have issues, but it is what it is. I like being surrounded by reasonably-priced high-quality food, face, and home products.
Seriously though, what’s not to love? I stroll through the aisles, run into friends for a quick catch up by the wall of grass-fed beef while gathering a cart full of food that will feed the kids for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks…all of it for half the price of Key Food or Whole Foods. And I love chatting with the cashiers – so many interesting people work at TJs! Now to be sure, I am an extrovert so this may be part of the equation here.
This Trader Joe’s list is a fun one, and I’ve got so much more great content planned for 2023. I hope you’ll get on the list!
Anyway, the holidays at Trader Joe’s are always entirely next-level, but this year they have really upped their game. Below I have collected a list of my favorite Trader Joe’s Holiday items. Get over there ASAP and snag some of these amazing gifts for your friends, lovers, and your fine self before they’re all gone!
And please comment below and share what your favorite TJ’s items are for the holidays or just any day! Can’t wait to hear what you love!
Embroidered Cotton Napkins, $9.99 for set of 4
These are new this year: a set of four cotton napkins, embroidered with rustic vegetables like something straight from the Chez Panisse cookbook. These will look lovely on your holiday table, and make a really thoughtful gift for Secret Santa or a hostess gift at a dinner party you’re invited to. I love them!
Who doesn’t love a bowl made of olive wood? Use it for dips, for mise en place, for nuts (TJs nut selection is as extensive as any you’ll find – the Sesame Almonds and Spiced Pecans are faves). Put it on your coffee table and just let it be. Gorgeous.
12 Days of Beauty, $24.99 each
I don’t know about you, but I love an advent calendar and TJ’s has lots! There are simple ones for your cat filled with salmon treats, and adorable ones for your kids, filled with 24 days of mini chocolates. But the one for you is this one, 12 Days of Beauty, with a spa day in every pocket. There’s a Kombucha Rose Cleansing Oil, a Eucalyptus Shower Steamer, Rose Bath Salts with Rose Petals, a Hair Detangler, and a few different hand creams and lip balms too. And new this year…they’ve included their best selling Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Sunscreen! Get this now.
Jingle Jangle, $9.99
This is a Trader Joe’s Christmas Classic for a reason—a festive tin filled up with milk and dark chocolate covered pretzels, mini peanut butter cups, chocolate smothered cookies, milk chocolate candies, and dark chocolate coated popcorn. It’s a big ole tin of fun. Put it out on your dessert spread and watch it vanish. (Pro Tip: Do not leave your kids alone with the Jingle Jangle!)
Cedar Balsam Hand Soap and Lotion Duo, $7.99
This pine-scented duo is a simple way to freshen up the kitchen area in your home – adding the the Evergreen scent of the holidays to hand soap and a lotion that will keep the cracking winter dry skin at bay.
Dark Chocolate Covered Dates from Spain, $7.99
These are amazing and on par with what you might find at a high end confectioners shop like Harry & David or Eataly. TJ’s gets them direct from Spain and they are delicious. Choose from gorgeous Dark Chocolate Covered Dates filled with peanut butter (pictured above), or luscious dark chocolate coated figs. These make amazing hostess gifts. So good.
If someone you know loves Trader Joe’s send them this post! It’s always nice to share the Buzz!
For teens, moms, bros, grandmas, whomever you have on your list who might need a little brightening…this trio is the best: Vitamin C Serum, Moisturizing Glow Face Mark, and a Lip Balm Butter in a festive pink gift box.
Dark Chocolate Orange, $3.49
My friend Talya told me about these chocolate oranges that they have in England—it’s not chocolate flavored with orange, but the real fruit dipped in chocolate. A friend of hers loves them so much she spent her 50th birthday strolling around the Heath eating one very slowly. Now they are at TJs, wrapped up in orange foil in a beautiful little box, perfect for gifting, or eating slowly on a milestone birthday when you need some time alone with chocolate.
Felted Garlands and Wreaths ($19.99)
New this year are a collection of pretty felted garlands and wreaths available in multi-color or ivory. I drape them all over the house and have the wreath on my front door. So pretty!
