Happy Wednesday. This “chat” post is a new feature I’m testing out here — a place where we can share and get to know each other a little more. A forum so I can hear what you’ve all been up to — where are you eating, traveling, shopping, reading? What’s making you stop in your tracks and think? I want to know!
As for me, I’m coming down off a really lovely weekend out in the North Forth celebrating my son’s 10th birthday (with the best chocolate cake from One Girl Cookies). We rented a place on the Sound, grilled at home, went to Harbes Farm to pet the baby goats, watch the pigs race, and jump on the bouncers. We hit the beach for some shell collecting and an icy cold swim (the water is still freezing!). I spent more than six hours at Splish Splash where I was forced to ride many terrifying water slides. MANY. I barely survived. But I might have even had fun. It’s possible…between the screams.
Of course we ate. We had a delicious celebration dinner at Claudio’s Tavern & Grill, and a very overpriced but gorgeous lunch at Dureya’s Orient Point. We shopped at Mint, The Village Cheese Shop, and at the The Times Vintage Store in Greenport (the best). We played Stranger Things Monopoly and GibGab. We watched Champions. I went running, finished reading Maame (loved), watched the end of Succession (Still processing but welcome your thoughts), and drank a lot of cold rosé during the day. So, a very good weekend for all.
