Three (delicious) Things to Drink and Eat This Week!
Smashburgers, Italian Wine, and a place for Striking Actors and Writers
Welcome to Monday my friends! Just a short little Buzz this morning to share three fun events happening this week you might want to check out if you like wine, burgers, or have a friend on the writers and screen actors strike.
Gotham Burger Social Club Pop Up
Chef Mike Puma’s Gotham Burger Social Club is doing one of its amazing Pop Ups on Wednesday at Ray’s Bar (171 Chrystie) starting at 5PM. Mike, who you may have heard of, left a 28-year career on Wall Street, to follow a passion for flat top griddled burgers, which grew out of his 2013 burger-walking tour, Gotham Burger Social Club.
Mike’s smashburgers, made in the style of an Oklahoma smashburger with griddled onions and American cheese, are fairly fantastic (actually, scratch the fairly) and will be served in Single smash - $9, Double Smash - $13, Triple Smash - $17 for those who are ready to really lean into coronary artery disease.

Striking Screen Actor or Writer? Dine at Marseille & Nizza and Pay Later (If You Can)
Simon Oren, Chef Andy D'Amico, and Robert Guarino are once again feeding the community that has fed them all these years. From 9pm every night of the week, any member of the unions affiliated with the current writer and actor strike can dine at their popular theater district restaurants Marseille, and Nizza located at 630 Ninth Avenue aka The Film Center Building (44 Street), free of charge and pay the restaurant back at a later date, if and when possible (not incl. alcoholic beverages, and gratuity).
Union members are asked to show their ID card when arriving at the restaurant and can reserve in advance or just walk-in.
This generous offer is the second time they’ve opened their doors to the acting community’; members of the Broadway unions were also invited to dine for free during the height of the pandemic.
