Somehow, Thanksgiving is right around the corner…whatcha got planned? Going out? Staying in? Want to do your own turkey and just get the sides? Or really do you want to just sit around and eat a lot of pie? Read on for your guide to every kind of way to be grateful.

IF YOU WANT TO GO OUT….

Thanksgiving in the Rockaways

Why not head out to the sandy shores of the Rockaways for some surfing and sunsets this Thanksgiving? The Rockaway Hotel is doing a special super affordable Thanksgiving at Margie's. The thoughtful prix fixe menu includes perfect Thanksgiving options for both adults and children. ($55 for adults, $25 for kids under 12). The best part? You don’t have to go head home after dinner! Book a room or a bungalow at The Rockaway Hotel  and stay overnight for a spa day, get in a sauna, and go for a plunge in the heated pool the next day. You might see me there! You never know….

Get on a Ship (kind of): Thanksgiving at Holywater

I love Thanksgiving on a yacht….well, I think I would, I have never been on a yacht. But the next best thing is Holywater in Tribeca, the sexy sea-faring hideaway from the folks behind Grand Banks and The Drift Inn, where you can have a Thanksgiving feast curated by Crew Culinary Director, Kerry Heffernan (the OG chef from 11 Madison). His prix fixe dinner ($125pp) begins with a flute of Champagne paired with a Castelfranco Radicchio Salad, their famous Caviar Tater Tots, or a delightful Honeynut Squash Soup. Then you’ll settle in for family-style dinner of Roasted Organic Turkey with Oyster Fennel Stuffing, Marjoram Pan Gravy, Kerry’s mom’s famous Praline Sweet Potatoes, Haricots Verts Amandine, and a Fragrant Cranberry Relish. For dessert, Caramelized Apple Bourbon Bread Pudding with Chantilly. Reserve here.

It’s like Mom’s Cooking….Thanksgiving at Patti Ann’s!

The cheery dining room at Patti Ann’s is full of games for kids!

Greg Baxtrom’s fantastic family-centric Park Slope restaurant Patti Ann’s is named after his mom, and he’s channeling all his childhood favorites into a $65 prix fixe Thanksgiving menu this year. The family-style Thanksgiving dinner includes Herb Roasted Turkey with Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Brussels Sprout Salad, Pull Apart Rolls, Roasted Norwich Winter Vegetables, Cornbread Stuffing and of course... Pumpkin Pie! For Kid's they’re doingFrench Bread Pizza and Buttered Veggies! Reserve on Resy!

IF YOU JUST WANT TO EAT PIE

Butter & Scotch’s Apple Pear Cranberry Crumble Pie

Butter & Scotch

The ladies at Butter & Scotch are (pardon my language) the baddest dessert bitches in Brooklyn! Their cakes are mile high and gorgeous, and you can’t find a pie with more sass. (Plus they’re just off the hook).

This year’s menu includes:

  • Apple Pear Cranberry Crumble $42

  • Bourbon Ginger Pecan ($45)

  • Pumpkin Spice Pie ($42)

  • Gluten Free S’Mores Pie ($45)

Order here!

Winner

Winner is doing the whole shebang, from whole uncooked turkeys, to fully-roasted heritage birds with sides galore. Their bakery is my happy place and their pies are among the best in the city. There’s a Chai Spiced Pumpkin Pie ($40) or the Maple Pecan with whipped creme fraiche and pumpkin seeds ($45). Order here!

One Girl Cookies

Pretty Pies…as good as they look from One Girl Cookies.

One Girl Cookies makes the best birthday cakes, whoopie pies, and tiny tea cookies you’ll find, but Dave is famous for for his pies. You can get your hands on these three for the holidays: Double Crusted Apple, Maple Pumpkin, and Pecan ($34 each, so a lot  more reasonable than the competition!) Order here!
