The Eater App is here!
From NY to LA, Mexico City to Paris, a way to find your next meal and book a table too!
Folks, you know you can always email me to get ideas on where to have dinner, but now there’s an app that can do it all – help you navigate where to eat and make a reservation too! Welcome to the (free) Eater App!
It’s launching today in iOS for now and it shares all the maps and guides and insider dish on where to eat, not just in New York but everywhere Eater is, from LA to London, Mexico City to Paris.
Here’s how it works. The Eater app locates you on a map, lets you search for restaurants near you, or by neighborhood, cuisine, or dish. It’s filled with over 10,000 editor-curated maps (like the one I just wrote about Brooklyn Heights) in 100-plus cities around the globe, and you can even book a table; the app is integrated with Seven Rooms and multiple reservation platforms.
The app lets you create a profile and save your favorite places. If you’ve got a Capital One card, you can unlock primetime reservations through Capital One Dining, and everyone can explore and book editor-approved restaurants, including unbeatable dining and hospitality experiences at SevenRooms partner restaurants.
Eater Editor in Chief Stephanie Wu has been working with her team on launching this for years, and she hopes that it will change the way you make your dinner (and travel) plans. “This has been a dream of mine for so long, to have an Eater app that shows you every single Eater-recommended restaurant near you, for when you need to make a decision on the fly about where to eat or when you’re trying to plan your next trip,” she said when we chatted on email about the launch. “You’ll be able to browse by map or location (in any of our 100+ cities), search by dish or cuisine, and even make a reservation right through the app.”
The Eater app, presented by Capital One Dining and powered by SevenRooms, is now available for free for iOS users. Download it now. (Note that it takes a bit for apps to surface on search within the App Store, so use the download link!!)
Check it out and hope you love it.
