Rockaway Beach Bakery makes a move to the Rockaway Hotel.

Pardon the double email today, but I have some very good news to deliver on this rainy Thursday. It’s a scoop that makes me very happy and we could all use some happy right now.
Rockaway Beach Bakery is moving to The Rockaway Hotel! That’s right. The pastry chef and ice cream maven Tracy Obolsky, known for her hand-laminated croissants, sugar-dusted Croissant Loaf, and Ham and Cheese Everything Croissants is moving to the Rockaway Hotel, opening April 3rd!

At the hotel, she’s going to be serving an all day menu that includes breakfast pastries and lunch sandwiches, cakes and pies, and she’s going to bring back her ice cream (flavors like Vanilla Honeycomb, Salted Whiskey Caramel, Mint Fudge, Chocolate Malt, and Coffee Toffee)!!! Expect slices of Strawberry Rhubarb pie, Blueberry Yuzu Sticky Bun with Cream Cheese Frosting, Salted Butterscotch Blondies, slices of Chocolate Peanut Butter cakes, buttermilk biscuit breakfast sammies, alongside a menu of savory sandwiches, and coffee drinks, and more.



“This neighborhood gave me so much over the last decade — regulars who became friends, surfers who became family, and a reason to show up every morning,” said Tracy, who was the pastry chef at Esca, The General Greene, Cookshop, and Danny Meyer’s The North End Grill before decamping to The Rockaways and opening her bakery in a shack in a marina Arverne in 2016. “Finding a new home at The Rockaway Hotel means I get to keep building on that, and I cannot wait to see everyone walk through the door.”
