Good morning and L’Shana Tova to all who are celebrating the Jewish New Year. Last night, I cooked a traditional Persian feast, trying to channel my Bibi, but about 50 times smaller because she always cooked for a squadron (well to be fair sometimes there seemed to be 100 people there). We had a gorgeous round challah from Make me Challah, and I made some kebabs, rice with tadig, chorest gemeh, and badamjun, and of course we had a fish heads (but no light bulbs), and a delicious spread of babka from Breads for dessert. (Photo here of our cat Murray trying to get in on the action).
This weekend there are some great fall events happening around town. Don’t forget that Pklyn, a new pickleball spot in Gowanus I wrote about last week is hosting a full day of opening events including Open Play, and Pickleball Beer Pong. For the rest of your weekend activities read on below!
