Happy Thursday friends,

This week was a busy one. There were many, many doctors — one for my mom, the orthodontist for Sam, and a rogue splinter excavation for Eiji. In between waiting rooms and subway delays, I managed to do some writing. I had a story go up on Bloomberg on our city’s newest trend against maximalism; it’s the era of the tiny restaurant. Operators are pushing back against the high cost of, well, everything, and downsizing, bringing more intimacy and a more affordable bottom line to our dinners – think spots like 6, Ha’s Snack Bar, Cafe Kestrel, Chez Fifi, La Veau D’or, and more. Check it out here. And my latest for Eater is a review of Hildur in DUMBO. I’m working on a breaking news story for The Strong Buzz at the moment (more on that next week!).

I hope you’re able to join me for the debut of The Strong Buzz Salon at Cafe Spaghetti on Tuesday April 22nd. We will be joined by wine curator and front of house partner Giovanna Cucola and chef Sal Lambroglia for Apero from 5pm-7pm. Sign up to become a subscriber now (20% off all April long) to access your tickets! Our next one is already in the works with chef Wilson Tang at ChaCha Tang, and with James O’Brien at Popina! So get on the list!

As for the Weekend Buzz, I’ve got a few fab activities — a new flour mill opening, an obscure wine workshop, and a fresh fun take on sandwiches — that will make this Spring’s second Winter a bit more tolerable, dare I say enjoyable!

See you Monday,

xx

Andrea
